Revamping Equoo - A Study in Design Iteration

Updated: 4 days ago

Psycapps brought us on board to help fine-tune the art, animation, UI, and overall user experience for their app, eQuoo. Over a fun and collaborative 12 weeks, our team worked closely with theirs through a series of iterative steps to refine character designs, game assets, UI elements, and UX - making the app both visually stunning and a joy to use.

Project Highlights

  • UI Overhaul: Simplified navigation, clearer layouts, and more user-friendly design.

  • Updated Character Designs: Made characters more relatable and engaging with refreshed artwork.

  • Avatar Customization: Added new options to personalize avatars, boosting player immersion.

Story Covers

  1. Concept Sketches: Drafted initial sketches to define composition, pose, and style in line with the game’s tone.

  1. Greyscale Coloring: Added depth, shading, and lighting in greyscale to refine structure before adding color.

  1. Color Rendering: Applied color to finalize polished visuals that match Equoo’s brand.

  1. Feedback & Iteration: Refined artwork based on client input to improve relatability and meet goals.

  2. Finalization: Approved and prepared final designs for in-game use.
